DashBuddy V3 - BugHunting Phase

As I said in my last post, I managed to get the old photo upload working in the new architecture this weekend - thank goodness!

I’ve deployed to my own device and I’m now working on finding and fixing bugs for this version - I normally give this phase a week, so I’m looking at working on them until about Friday. Then the plan is to submit the new app in the marketplace over the weekend.

So far things I’m really liking:

  • Background notifications telling me when there’s new posts
  • Pinning some of my followers to my start screen (that never gets old!)
  • Going to a followers blog from my follow screen rather than having to find them in a list of posts.

To show I’m not just putting things off, here’s the bugs/missing features I’ve found already:

  • Background Task shows the notification, but doesn’t change the DashBuddy tile on the start screen to tell me how many new posts I’ve got - if you’re away from your phone when it happens this is important.
  • Issue displaying new posts when you first load the app - but it’s ok on refresh, so I’ve got some incorrect logic in there somewhere.
  • No way of getting to the dashboard from a pinned blog.
  • Post list doesn’t auto-refresh after you’ve deleted a post.

Hoping to have these issues fixed over lunchtime!

This is the end of a long process for me, I hope you guys like the end result.
